Ten Months of Stuff

Where to begin?

My return to Judo was derailed quickly. In February I dislocated my right knee. At that point I knew I couldn't do any martial art without getting it fixed.

So, in May, I got the surgery (Fulkerson). They moved my patellar tendon over to the correct spot and screwed it down. From May until now (Oct 27, 09) I have been doing physical therapy like a madman. To be honest, that's what my life basically consisted of.

The first month was bad. Basically just laid on the couch doing absolutely nothing. After that it got a lot better.

As you can tell from the picture, it was not that fun.

They put two screws in my knee, which remain there today. Fun stuff. Anyway, last week they cleared me to do whatever I wanted. So I am going to hopefully start training again.

Otherwise, let's see what happened this year.

#1 - I got engaged! Sweet! We are going to get married July 9th, 2010. Happy days. Planning it is not really very fun though.

#2 - Lombardi got married, and I was a groomsman. I have some pictures, and will post them eventually.

#3 - Our dogs are awesome! I mean, that's a given.

Dogs & Judo

It has been too long!

The dogs have been doing great! Obviously, by now, they are much less of a hassle. However, Lindsay and I fouled up. We didn't get Gretta spade in time and now she is in heat. Talk about a pain. Wouldn't be so bad, but Alfie just drives her crazy. She has a diaper, its denim! I think she's about a week in, so, we have about two more weeks to go through ...

In other news ...

I have been trying to find a Judo club. I'd like to start again, but, the biggest worry is my knee. I have been doing physical therapy, but who knows if it will work or not. I know the Dr wanted me to have a Fulkerson (Which is one hell of a surgery). I go in to see him on Thursday to talk about it and the affects of having/not having it.

What else is new?

I bought a new Fushida Judogi (www.fushida.ca)
Lindsay just got a job!
A wind storm blew off the downspout of my gutter and a shutter

Nothing else, I don't think ...

Dogs, Dogs, and More Dogs

The dogs are crazy!

No really, really, really crazy!

Well, at least the time spent on them is crazy! They are both doing great. Alfie's had some diarrhea still, but seems to be getting better. Gretta had her second shots last night and was a zombie for the rest of the day, poor girl!

Anyway - absolutely nothing else to report other than taking care of the dogs!

Welcome! The dogs have arrived!

My first blog. Very nice. Not sure anyone will read this save myself.

I plan on doing one of these a week or roundabouts.

Last Wednesday we (Lindsay and I) got our first puppy, Alfie! He's a French Bulldog and such a cool little guy. He's been great so far. But, wow, the work is unbelievable. To compound it, Friday we got our West Highland White Terrier, Gretta (Though Lindsay went back and forth about 100 times on her name).

I really do feel like I have no life right now. It kinda sucks, obviously. The worst part is Alfie is kinda sick. Pretty bad diarrhea. We took Alfie and Gretta to the vet on Saturday.

Alfie has clostridium and Gretta has coccidia. How they got them I have no idea. They both act fine, but after four days of antibiotics Alfie still has the runs. He only has five days of meds for the clostridium, so if its not better by tomorrow I am going to give the vet a call again.

The smile on my face in this picture is very fake. I am probably so tired I can't keep my eyes open.
